# Why topics translate faster than posts

AI - Translator Question - How does the system determine the ratio or split between translating topics versus posts?

I am seeing topic data translated for 7 months, but posts have only been translated for 20 days.

Curious.

We use similar numbers for both batches, so topics will progress faster, with communities with topics with many posts making the delta longer.

You can control that by tweaking the max age to a lower value, allowing posts translation to catch up, or by increasing the backfill rate, so everything gets translated faster.
