Wiki post color for dark forum skins?

(Jake Whitaker) #1

Since the update added the wiki post color as a white, I’ve had complaints on my forum (which uses a black background with white text, thus rendering the text on that background unreadable). Resorting to using the staff color, which is thankfully black, but would a better solution to this exist? Managing those post background colors has generally been a pain with white text colors.

Sure, this is doable, you simply assign a new color for the wiki background.

On my phone right now so I can’t help further.

Basically you have to inspect a wiki post using “inspect node” in chrome/Firefox and look up the css class. Then in the site settings you have to override that.

I believe @awesomerobot recently checked in a change to improve this.

I did make a change last week that should help this… if you can provide a link to an example I could take a better look at it as well.

Navigate to your site’s settings, click on customize and then on CSS/HTML, create a new style and copy these 3 lines into it.

.wiki .topic-body {
    background-color: #A31414;
}

Replace #A31414 with some pretty color for your wiki background, you can use sites like Browse Palettes :: COLOURlovers or http://www.color-hex.com/ to find a fitting one.

Then, simply save the Style and activate it. You can also preview it of course.
