# Will removing plugins purge their data?

We stumbled upon the
`HINT: The plugin 'XXXXXX' is now bundled with Discourse and should not be included in your container configuration.`
during the latest ./launcher rebuild app
If we remove the container configuration, will we lose the data from the plugin?

Hey Alex!
No, removing official plugins will not remove its data.
They’ll all continue to sit in the database. In the event you remove and reinstall the plugin everything will be as-is from before.
