# You can send yourself to deleted personal chat

reproduction:
1. start a dm with yourself
2. the issue occurs
it should take you to your own pm
but instead, it takes you to deleted
i’m not sure why it is doing that

I just tested and was able to reproduce this bug. If I send a message, it goes to the “deleted” chat.

Is there any missing step?
What is the deleted chat exactly? Is that a channel or a personal discussion? How can a personal discussion be deleted?
I’d like to repro, but I think I’m missing a bit of info about how the chat works 😄

[Swordbattle.io](http://Swordbattle.io) forum runs on older discourse forum software, so that bug seems to still exist over there
@Canapin I think the bug is patched, cannot reproduce anymore

If it can be reproduced on meta or other up-to-date forums, it’s a good sign. 🙂
Ideally, the forum you came across the issue in should be upgraded to the last version, so you could test again and confirm.

The forum @hello-smile6 was able to reproduce this on was updated, and it’s still possible, though you have to have an existing chat with @deleted for it to be possible. (EX: Forums without chats to deleted are fine)
