Facebook One Box Error

AI-generated summary

The discussion revolves around a Facebook One Box Error encountered in Discourse’s 2.7.0.beta1 version. PoojaPatel initially reported the error, which is caused by Facebook’s API and occurs when loading a video in a sandboxed iframe for security reasons. The error message reads: “Assignment is forbidden for sandboxed iframes.” Despite this error, the video still works fine, as seen in an example. As explained by techAPJ, the alternative would be to not onebox the video at all, which seems like a worse solution.

Facebook One Box Error on Latest 2.7.0.beta1 version.

ErrorUtils caught an error:

Failed to set the ‘domain’ property on ‘Document’: Assignment is forbidden for sandboxed iframes. [Caught in: Module “lowerDomain”]

Subsequent non-fatal errors won’t be logged; see https://fburl.com/debugjs.

Same error show when I do F12 on following post.

Can you provide an example?

This error is coming from Facebook API because we are loading the video in a sandbox iframe for security reasons.

As I can see here the video works fine even with the error from Facebook so it’s not blocking the feature? The alternate here would be to not onebox the video at all which seems even worse.
