User mattdm is experiencing issues with recurring dates on their Discourse instance. They noticed that the “recurring” option in the advanced part of the dialog is not working correctly, and the dates are not being calculated as expected. seanblue pointed out that the issue was already reported and fixed in a previous thread, and suggested updating to the latest version to resolve the issue. However, mattdm also reported issues with hourly repeats, which riking confirmed are still bugged.
mattdm asked if it’s normal for updates to land on meta first and then be rolled out to hosted instances later, and seanblue confirmed that this is the case. codinghorror brought the issue to the attention of joffreyjaffeux, who was unaware of the problem and will look into it. A fix is currently awaiting review: https://github.com/discourse/discourse/pull/11657.
I get “January 31, 2021 2:00 PM”, and it seems like the error compounds from there. If I give it August 1st, November 25th comes back! If I give 3000-01-01, I get July 14, 3489.
Already reported and fixed in Recurring date is showing wrong next date, which is why it’s working here on meta. If you update to the latest version I’m sure the issue will be fixed on your instance as well.
