The discussion revolves around reviving a topic without notifying everyone previously involved in the conversation. leopedrini currently uses a workaround by adding a reply and immediately deleting it, but this still sends notifications.
Robert suggested using Auto-bump, which can be applied through the Topic Timer and Auto-bump individual topics from the Topic wrench menu. Canapin explained that Auto-bump silently bumps the topic without sending notifications, but it does leave a public bump message.
leopedrini found this solution partially effective, but expressed a desire for an option to leave the bump message unidentifiable. Stephen argued that the bump message provides valuable context, while leopedrini countered that, in their case, it would be better to simply revive the topic without any clues.
The main issue remains that there is no way to revive a topic without notifying anyone previously involved in the conversation, which leopedrini would like to see as an option.
For a topic to move back up the list something has to have happened. If the last dated entry was weeks or months ago then it will only confuse your users.
But note the warning: will notify anyone previously involved in the conversation.
And i don’t want that.
Revive this topic?
The last reply to this topic was about 1 year ago. Your reply will bump the topic to the top of its list and notify anyone previously involved in the conversation.
Are you sure you want to continue this old conversation?
Any way to do it, without notifying anyone in the conversation?
