It would be useful to know (without logging in) how many are pending.
For the forums I am admin for there is one ‘active’ and one ‘passive’ moderator (who in this case is the active moderator’s manager), the ‘passive’ moderator is a backup moderator who doesn’t log in very often so is unaware of the queue size. Visibility of the number of items (without logging in) would inform the ‘passive’ moderator and prompt a review of the pending posts.
