May be something to look into.

Users are reporting a bug in the Discourse iOS app where resuming the app (without force-closing it) results in a blank page instead of loading the subscriptions feed. Frits_van_der_Veer first reported the issue on iOS 18.1.1 using an iPhone 16 Pro Max, noting that force-closing and reopening the app resolves the problem temporarily. ondrej initially misunderstood the issue, thinking it referred to the Discourse Subscriptions plugin, but Frits_van_der_Veer clarified it concerns the DiscourseHub app itself, sharing a screenshot of the blank screen. Bas confirmed seeing a similar issue, also sharing a screenshot showing a low battery and no network, though context suggests it’s unrelated. pmusaraj acknowledged the report and committed to fixing it in the next beta, available via TestFlight. Separately, Richie reported a similar symptom—spinner instead of content—on Safari PWA on iOS and macOS, suggesting a possible backend timeout or disconnect issue. pmusaraj noted the PWA behavior differs from the native app issue and may have separate causes, while Richie acknowledged the distinction with a smiley. The core issue remains under active development for the DiscourseHub iOS app.

Hello Frits.
I don’t quite understand what you are asking. Are you referring to the Discourse Subscriptions Plugin plugin?
Thanks for the report, will work on a fix this week.
Some of our community have been reporting the same issue on iOS and macOS, with Safari browser.
If they leave our Discourse site open as the active tab then close the browser for a period of time, when they come back they just get a spinner, the site never loads.
It’s as if something is disconnecting or timing out in the background, and the frontend UI is unaware of the disconnect.
Could this also be related to the hub-app issue reported here?
@Richie that looks a little bit different, it’s not completely a blank page. And it also looks like you’re on the PWA, which may have its own challenges.
The original issue in DiscourseHub here should be fixed in the next beta, available for public testing via: https://testflight.apple.com/join/mzqp6Bk3
Thanks, yes, I wasn’t sure if PWA would be functioning in a similar way to the native app ![]()
