Preactivate the search field of the GIF search

AI-generated summary

The discussion revolves around an issue where the search field in the GIF search widget within chat is not automatically activated when entering the interface, requiring a manual click to type. Matthias_Schuster highlights the inconvenience, especially for accessibility. Moin confirms the same behavior, and j.jaffeux notes it works across browsers but acknowledges the issue. A fix was merged in a pull request (#30613), which resolved the problem for Moin. j.jaffeux clarifies that a subsequent PR (#30638) will remove the need for special cases, ensuring the functionality works seamlessly. Moin confirms the fix is effective, and j.jaffeux appreciates the confirmation.

When I enter the “Search GIF” widget in the chat, the field to input the search string is not activated. I need to click into the box, in order to be able to type.

It would be nice, if I could just type away (and also make it more accessible to disabled people, who work without a mouse)

It’s working for me chrome/safari/firefox/arc. Can you give me more details on your env?

I will still push a change, which could potentially improve things for you.

It works now.

I think it was fixed here FIX: Ensure popups from the chat composer dropdown gain focus by pento · Pull Request #30613 · discourse/discourse · GitHub

Ok I know why it was not obvious to me, because I had fixed this problem in another way in my emoji picker branch that I just merged. This PR will also remove the fix you linked: DEV: removes non needed special case by jjaffeux · Pull Request #30638 · discourse/discourse · GitHub

It should all work without any special case now. Thanks :+1:
