I manage a community on Discourse, and since GTM has some limitations, I would like to implement Adobe Analytics instead. Is it possible to implement Adobe Analytics on Discourse? If yes, any issues I should look out for?
AI-generated summary
A user, hmmmnotsure, inquired about implementing Adobe Analytics on their Discourse community, noting limitations with GTM. NateDhaliwal shared a link to a prior discussion but admitted limited knowledge of Adobe Analytics. hmmmnotsure then reached out to pfaffman, who suggested placing the script in an initializer, though he wasn’t aware of specific pitfalls. Later, techAPJ revealed that Discourse now includes a built-in site setting—“Adobe Analytics tags URL”—to easily inject the required script into the site header. anuraglakhara125 confirmed using a component for this, but Canapin clarified no plugin or component is needed—it’s native. hmmmnotsure initially didn’t see the setting, but Arkshine explained it was added recently and required a Discourse upgrade. After updating, hmmmnotsure confirmed the setting appeared and expressed readiness to configure it. The thread concludes with confirmation that Adobe Analytics integration is straightforward via core settings, provided the Discourse instance is up to date.

Thank you, Nate.
The conversation seems incomplete. Any pointers on how to do it?
Sorry, I can’t help with that. I’m not very familiar with Adobe Analytics.
Why does that sound like an AI
?
Thank you, Nate!
@pfaffman hey! i just saw your thread. I wanted to check with you if there is anything we should be aware of before taking this project up?
Uh, What thread? Looks like I said pretty much exactly what I said here; at least I’m consistent. ![]()
Not that I’m aware of. I don’t know what they want, but I think you could just stick it in an initializer.
Thanks a lot Arpit, I have created a component for this. Now it is very straight forward.
Thank you for sharing this, Arpit, Jay. So it is doable… good to know.
does this setting come with a plugin?
This is a built-in setting, no need to install a theme component or a plugin. ![]()
Weird, i’m not seeing the setting.
You might need to upgrade Discourse.
