Hi, I logged out of my admin account in order to check what the site looked like as a guest and when I tried to log back in it said that an activation email was sent to my inbox. I looked in my inbox and there was nothing there. I tried this three times with no prevail. I also tried login with link, forgot password and /u/admin-login but no email are arriving to my admin inbox. There might be something wrong with my admin email because Backups were not sent to my email like a week ago so I checked and it turned out that when I setup the forum I used two different emails. One email during the server setup and one email as the admin email. In order to fix that problem I changed my email manually in the server so both the admin email and the server email were the same one and the emails (backups) started working again. However the problem seems to not be fixed because I now cant login without the site requiring an activation email (maybe because I changed the email?) and the forgotten password, /u/admin-login and invite link does not work. If I remember correctly it said something regarding SMTP in /sidekiq/retries but I can not access this page anymore because I am not logged in to my admin account. Best regards Olle

[imagem] Olle11: and it requires an activation of my admin account. Maybe it can help if you need to activate the account from the console: [imagem] How do I activate a user account via console? Development I don’t think there is a direct command for that, but you can use the Rails console. First, you enter into it: cd /var/discourse ./launcher enter app rail c Then, you find the user by its username (replace username_to_activate) and activate it. User.find_by(username: "username_to_activate").activate You can type exit two times to quit. You should see that action in the log: [image]

Oh damn… of course :man_facepalming: I’m a bit slow today…

That is alright I appreciate any help. I cant work on my forum at all because of this lockout and I am used to working on it everyday. Safe mode does not work either because in order to use safe mode you need to be logged in as admin.

Or perhaps this: ./launcher enter app rake admin:create Because when used email that is already in use for an admin it will ask if wanted to give new password. Hopefully I don’t hallucinate this time :face_with_peeking_eye:

Thank you. This should at least let me login and let me check the logs on Sidekiq as to why the emails are not sending. I will come back here when I have managed to log in as an admin and checked the logs.

This might also be of help, thank you, I will come back here when I have (hopefully) managed to log in and can go on towards the next step.

I tried this in console and was met by this message, what am I doing wrong? [image]

Are you sure you are in the right folder? The one with app.yml in it?

rails with s. There is a typo it seems.

Yippie rails c worked to activate my admin account. Now what is remaining is to find out why the emails are not sending, this is what I recieve at Sidekiq/retries: [image]
