Disabling actor not possible?

AI-generated summary

In a support thread titled “Disabling actor not possible?” under the ActivityPub tag, Thomas_Rother reported that while users can toggle an actor’s status to “disabled” via a slider, saving the actor causes it to revert to “active,” creating UI inconsistency between the slider and the federation banner. Jagster confirmed deletion of actors is currently impossible but noted the disable function works for them. angus could not reproduce the toggle issue, advised updating to the latest plugin version and checking logs, and confirmed actor deletion support is planned. Thomas_Rother later confirmed the issue was resolved after updating the ActivityPub plugin to commit 39f1cf4, eliminating the flipping behavior and UI mismatch. The environment was 3.5.0.beta3-dev with ActivityPub plugin at fd4ae425, later updated.

I noticed that deleting an already set actor for a category is currently not possible. This leads to a contradictory UI: the slider in the right says “disabled” while the federation banner shows “active”. You can “disable” it with the slider and the banner switches to “Not Active”. But as soon as you “save actor” it flips back to “active”.

For me it keeps an actor disabled. Deleting is impossible, though. It was Friday when I upgraded everything, so quite fresh but I don’t know (at the moment) what versions I have.

I can’t reproduce this at the moment either. Actors retain their enabled/disabled state on state in my testing. Please update to the latest version of the plugin and also check the logs for anything amiss.

Not currently, but we will be adding support for actor deletion soon.

Updated activitypub plugin to commit 39f1cf4. Now the “flipping” behaviour and inconsistance between the activitypub status banner and the slider button is gone.
