Make the composer menu scroll horizontally on desktop as it does on mobile

AI-generated summary

tobiaseigen initiated this feature request to address an issue where the composer menu wraps onto a second line on desktop at preferred browser widths, suggesting a solution similar to the mobile experience. renato supported the idea, proposing to implement the same logic used on mobile, where the menu becomes horizontally scrollable rather than wrapping. This request builds upon a similar discussion from 2017 regarding menu items disappearing on narrow pages. Later, 2 Moin noted that recent changes appear to have resolved the issue, providing a video demonstration of the improved functionality where the toolbar no longer wraps awkwardly.

I am pulling this out into a separate feature request because I think it is a fabulous idea!

Interestingly, I started up a similar feature request back in 2017 which provides some more context around why things are they way they are now.

I cannot easily spot which of the recent changes on the composer toolbar improved this, but it seems to work now.
