Hi everyone! In our community (https://community.ankihub.net/), we used to be able to hold down on the like button on mobile/IOS and choose reactions on posts/comments in a thread, like a heart or thumbs up or thumbs down. A year ago, after an update (I believe), we lost the ability to select reactions on mobile. We can only like, but we can’t hold down on the like icon and switch it to a heart for example. It works fine on desktop/laptop, but doesn’t work on Mobile even after requesting the desktop version of the site. Does anyone know why this happened and/or how to fix this? Any insights would be appreciated! Thank you all:heart:

Hello :waving_hand: The issue is that the Discourse Jira plugin adds position: relative to .post-controls .actions. assets/stylesheets/common/discourse-jira.scss 56e43f6ab .post-controls { .actions { position: relative; .post-jira-menu { position: absolute; bottom: auto; .btn { color: var(--primary); margin-left: 0; } } However, this doesn’t work because nav.post-controls has overflow-x: auto, which clips any overflowed (floating) elements — such as those added by Discourse Reactions. This only happens on mobile (viewport.sm), because overflow-x: auto is applied there. app/assets/stylesheets/mobile/topic-post.scss f47f95e6c display: none; } nav.post-controls { // for consistency, try to control spacing by editing these variables --control-space: 0.58em; --control-space-small: calc(var(--control-space) / 2); --control-space-large: calc(var(--control-space) * 1.3); // on small devices with many buttons this can overflow overflow-x: auto; .actions { // using an auto margin on first-child instead of justify-content on the parent // because justify-content breaks overflow scrolling :first-child { margin-left: auto; } // Some buttons can be doubled up, like likes or flags .double-button {

[imagem] Ahmed7: I entered safe mode for our community and the same issue persists unfortunately Which of the checkboxes for safe mode did you enable? I am asking because reactions are a plugin too, and I sometimes forget to disable the checkbox for plugins when I want to test a plugin in safe mode. [Screenshot_20251028_102458_Firefox]

I tried disabling all (checked all 3 boxes) first and it still was occurring. I also tried just checking the first 2 boxes and same thing Is there another combination I should try?

What Discourse version are you running? Also, if you disable and reenable the plugin, does the issue still persist? Thanks.

If it works here but not on your community, you should ask for the admins there to update their instance.

We are currently on version 3.6.0.beta2-latest [imagem] NateDhaliwal: Also, if you disable and reenable the plugin, does the issue still persist? I’ll try this and let you know!

I just tried disabling and re-enabling the plugin, still same thing :frowning: Is this a known issue on the beta version? “3.6.0.beta2-latest” The thing is we have always updated over the past year to the latest version and it has never resolved These are the plugin settings if that is helpful [CleanShot 2025-10-29 at 14.45.05@2x]

Here’s what I found after some testing on the forum with a resized viewport to simulate mobile and DevTools: the reactions popup is definitely there. The element shows up and goes away as expected when hovering and removing the cursor. But for some reason, it does not appear on-screen. Or at least it seems to. Well, here’s a screenshot when hovering: [image] If you look really closely at the area just above the bottom red line above the thumbs-up button, you can see a faint shadow, which is the popup. There’s simply no reactions on it. This occurs in safe mode. I also cannot, for the life of me, simulate a hover on the button to make the popup stay, even on desktop, using the DevTools’ controls to toggle the state yields no results. I cannot, therefore, ascertain if the reaction’s divs are even there. EDIT: The divs are definitely there: [image] As are the icons (they exist): [image] (And going to the URL shows the image)

Haha that’s so weird. I checked and yes I can see the super faint line when holding on the reactions. Is this a bug then? Any way to fix this/reverse it?

And this is iPhone 15/iOS26.0.1/Safari: [IMG_6051] Same thing with iPad, and DiscourseHub. So, for me it works and has been worked in every Discourse I’m using :man_shrugging:

@jagster Does it still work in our community for you? : https://community.ankihub.net/

Eu acho que é porque a largura da viewport trata a página como desktop, então funciona (como indicado pela barra lateral, que é vista no desktop).
