In the UX category, user Luna_Mora reported that the Sublime theme causes the full-screen chat window to overflow vertically on the screen height, a behavior not seen in Horizon or Foundation themes. They noted the issue also affects the admin panel and occurs with the top sidebar dropdown configuration Luna_Mora.
Developer awesomerobot initially pointed to a pending fix in the theme repository pull request #36. Upon testing, Luna_Mora confirmed the admin panel was resolved, but the chat window with the header dropdown remained broken, cutting off the top of the chat. awesomerobot acknowledged that the sidebar configuration makes a difference and implemented a specific fix for the header dropdown case, while clarifying that undefined composer height variables are expected behavior.
However, Luna_Mora returned to report a new issue where the fix inadvertently made the bottom of the Settings menu inaccessible in both sidebar and header dropdown configurations.
I have recently installed the Sublime theme and am running into a bit of an issue with the full screen chat window appearing to overflow the screen on the height:
I assume this is a CSS issue, and I would like to fix this so the view height of the window doesn’t scroll when the full screen chat is open, but I’m brand new to Discourse and I can’t figure out which class or variable is causing the overflow to begin to fix it. Any help would be appreciated!
(Also, I don’t know if this is connected, but it appears to do the same thing on the admin panel so it may not be the chat window overflowing but something else in the theme? The chat window does not do this on Horizon or Foundation.)
Something I failed to call out the first time is that I’m using the dropdown top sidebar instead of the left aligned sidebar. I don’t know if that makes a difference. But the top of the chat is now completely cut off:
Sorry, back again with a new problem with the full screen chat window that might have been caused by the above fix. I’m honestly not sure, I didn’t access the chat settings panel before the fix was added.
For both sidebar options, sidebar and header dropdown, the bottom of the Settings menu is inaccessible:
