The discussion revolves around understanding the “unlisted” feature in a forum. dmahler initially asked why they could still see unlisted topics on the front page, even though they were marked as unlisted. cpradio clarified that unlisted topics are only accessible to Staff via a direct URL and are hidden from latest and category pages for non-staff users.
dmahler inquired about the types of staff and whether moderators and admins are considered staff. HAWK confirmed that both moderators and admins are staff and that there are no other types of staff, which can be viewed at /admin/users/list/staff.
Additionally, dmahler asked if it’s possible to make a post searchable and accessible via direct URL but not visible to staff. HAWK replied that they are not aware of such a feature.
I have unlisted some topics but I still see them on the front page, but marked with the unlisted icon.
What does unlisted actually mean? Who/when/where can see unlisted topics?
Ideally I would like the topics not to appear on the front page or category pages, but still come up for explicit searches
