Problems I’ve run into so far: Brewfile is broken (Brewfile is out-of-date?) apple-gcc42 doesn’t work past Mavericks It forces an installation and use of ruby 2.0.0, but rails requires version >= 2.2.2 (this is in the output: ERROR: Error installing rails: activesupport requires Ruby version >= 2.2.2.) It requires bundle to be installed but doesn’t install it (or mention it in the documentation) I was following instructions here: https://github.com/discourse/discourse/blob/master/docs/DEVELOPMENT-OSX-NATIVE.md And as a side note, I still haven’t managed to install discourse.

Sorry it has take us so long, most of us are simply not using the quick setup so I have removed it. I think it is kind of fair to require a “long setup” from people on osx cause so much personal taste is at play.
