The discussion addresses a visual regression where tag, chat, and category icons appear as monochrome or grey boxes instead of displaying their intended colors in Category and Group descriptions. nathank initially reported that while links were functional, the icons lacked styling, noting this issue persisted across multiple posts (3, 5, 6). NateDhaliwal confirmed the issue also affected group descriptions. chapoi suggested the problem might be specific to the meta-theme due to its use of a block outlet for category banners, distinguishing it from the Foundation and Horizon themes which appeared correct. Finally, manuel acknowledged the custom component usage in the theme and confirmed that the issue has been fixed.
I’m afraid that I’ve found another little issue with this.
Currently in Category descriptions, all # related things (tags, chats, categories) correctly create a suitable link, but appear as unexciting monochrome boxes - exactly as they used to in Posts.
In the topic that generates the descriptions:
In the Category description itself:
(the words are different as I’d already edited them to work around it)
This is still an issue, and it doesn’t look great.
It is helpful to have tags, chat, and category links in category descriptions as they are super useful for navigating to those parts of the site that have a special relationship to the category.
I can’t believe that I’m the only one using them that way!
@manuel I believe this has been fixed in the base theme, Foundation & Horizon are fine afaict, but meta-branded isn’t yet – presumably because it’s using a block outlet to render the category banner?
Could you take a look or pass it on to the interrupt dev maybe?
