How do I send a message to a user?

AI-generated summary

A user asks how to send a direct message (DM) to another user on Discourse, noting the feature is not visible. Other users confirm the issue, explaining that new users start at trust level 0, which restricts DM capabilities. Moin and chapoi clarify that users must gain trust through community interaction to unlock higher trust levels (e.g., TL1 or TL2), enabling DMs. A blog post on trust levels is referenced for further details. forum_solution thanks the community for the answer.

Welcome to Meta :waving_hand:

You are right.
There is a blog post about the trust level system in Discourse which explains how some permissions are only granted after you gained a little more trust by interacting with the community

Hi and welcome to Discourse!

When you just join the forum, you are on trust level 0 – which has some restrictions.

You can read more about that here: Understanding Discourse Trust Levels

After a bit more interaction, you will quickly unlock higher levels and then be able to send personal messages.

Lol jinx with an almost identical answer

Thanks i have found my answer
