Is it possible to have the subcategories shown as a list either above or below the topics? Instead of having to navigate the subcategories by following that list. If you need more clarification on what I am asking feel free to ping me and let me know your question.

Welcome In the settings of the parent category, try ‘Show subcategory list above topics in this category’:

You can then pick a style (e.g. there’s an example of the Boxes on this page plugin - Discourse Meta)
