I had another thought that if my suggestions above are not practicable right now, we could at least make troubleshooting what is going on in these cases easier for staff by giving them an e.g. “2 impersonated” link at the top of their user profiles. That way if you see someone has shown up as having logged in that you are pretty sure is not active then you can easily see why their last seen date has been updated and see in one click who did the impersonating.

I’ve just tried this too - it is brilliant! Very clean, well communicated, just great!
I love that it is well logged, too.
An option to either count it as a ‘visit’ or keep it off the books would be the icing on the cake. This could either tied in with impersonation or stopping impersonation - or, better yet, both.
