Adding a #welcome tag for newcomers

I’m splitting out a new topic for this suggestion, which feels like it deserves its own space to explore:

I would suggest a #welcome tag pointing to a handful of introduction topics to navigate easily and onboard newcomers, e.g., for going from tl0 to tl1, grasping the mood and areas.

Yes, I’ve done that before on a community and I also think it’s a nice and flexible way to indicate an onboarding path, apart from using any category. Something like

Oh, it’s been a loooooong time I didn’t go through newcomers areas.

Here is what I use on stock forums:

1. The default “Welcome to Discourse” topic, here that would be New to Discourse? Start here!
2. An Introductions topic, where people can say hello and be welcome
3. The category description for the general category (or Agora, Community…)
4. A Get Started topic in Site feedback

The essential is to guide the reader through key areas of the community, and suggest entry points to the community.
