when you go to /admin/config/emoji clicking on “Settings” “Add emoji” does not load the pages, this requires a page refresh after clicking the links.

With the page refreshed Settings shows and Add Emoji shows.

When you add your first emoji it redirects to /admin/config/emoji and you cannot see the emoji just added, you have to refresh the page.

Once refreshed you can see your first emoji uploaded.

When you try to upload a second or any additional emojis even refreshing the /admin/config/emoji page no emojis are shown so you can no longer manage uploaded emojis even though they usable throughout the website.

This was found in tag v2026.2.0-latest and from commit DEV: Fix upcoming change specs (#37399) · discourse/discourse@89f9423 · GitHub

Tested with firefox, safari, incognito all cache and state clean.

Please let me know if there is something that is missing.

Welcome and thanks for the report! I think I can see the error that would cause this, and have just merged a fix:

FIX: switch to toSorted to avoid mutating original emoji array (#37450)

Once you’ve pulled this in, if you’re still having any issues can you check the browser console for errors?
