TLDR:Letter avatars are boring and a lot of users don’t want to upload avatars.

I’ve seen several places where you can generate an avatar with AI directly in the app and this looks more fun to me.
Maybe it’ll be a nice addition to the Disourse AI Plugin?

It is certainly something we can do, the new image generation api from open ai will also unlock some very interesting options

Hey Sam, perhaps something like:

  1. User registers or user with no avatar logs in.
  2. A popup "Don’t feel like uploading an avatar pic? How about we generate one unique for you. Just describe the picture you’d like to have e.g. “Geeky racoon”.
  3. Image generated, that user can select or try another prompt.
