When a spam topic requiring approval is “deleted” (resulting in the IP being banned, account deletion, and removal of all posts), it is not automatically removed from the needs approval list in the queued posts. AstonJ and cpradio confirmed that a hard refresh of the page is required to update the list. Additionally, the flag on the post does not get cleared automatically, as shown in an image shared by AstonJ. While refreshing the page resolves the issue, AstonJ believes this is not an ideal solution, especially when dealing with a large volume of spam.
When you click on the needs approval link to see list of topics requiring approval, when you delete one (and ban ip and delete account and all posts) they are removed from the DB but not that list. Clicking on delete for another spam post then results in an error message.
I’m trying to recall if refreshing the page was required for that to be shown. I think it just doesn’t do it “automatically” on a rerender. It has been a while since I’ve had an opportunity to see such an event lately.
Yes refreshing the page (hard refresh not clicking the refresh link) removes it but I don’t think that’s a good solution, especially when a number of staff are trying to deal with a lot of spam at the same time…
