Hello! More forums have group rules and admin can allow create topic or messages in topic for the guest, I know Discourse use trust level and don’t have classic permission for group, so it’s possible?

The discussion revolves around the topic “Allow guest to Post in Topic.” moschino inquired if it’s possible to allow guests to create topics or messages, considering Discourse’s trust level system. Moin and pfaffman explained that categories have create, reply, and read permissions, and using groups can allow certain users to read, reply to, and create topics.
However, when moschino asked about setting permissions for guests, pfaffman clarified that the “everyone” group includes all users, including not logged-in users, but still requires an account to post. merefield and pfaffman confirmed that users who are not logged in cannot post, and this cannot be changed.
As an alternative, merefield suggested building a plugin to allow users to enter an email address when posting, creating a staged user, and attributing the post to that staged user. They also mentioned a similar discussion on meta discourse and recommended posting in the Marketplace if someone is interested in building this feature.

You can also use groups to allow who can read, reply to and create a topic.
Understanding groups and category permissions
Categories have create, reply, read permissions. If you have reply enabled then users in that group can reply to existing topics.
Yes, but how to set permission for the “guest”? What is a group name?
See the link in the post above mine. It explains groups. “everyone” is all users (including not logged in users).
Wait wait though. That doesn’t mean anon can Post: You still have to have an account to Post?
Damn… I need allow reply on topic for the guest ![]()
Right. Perhaps I wasnt’ paying attention. Or just didn’t understand the request.
Users who are NOT logged in cannot post. This cannot be changed.
You could maybe build a plugin to allow users to enter an email at the same time as posting, and use the email to create a Staged User and attribute the post to the Staged User.
That’s a fair amount of work to do nicely, but go for it!
