There are a myriad of instances where I’ve observed people attempt to style their display names using UTF-8 character sets which exist for backward compatibility with its predecessors, like those containing bold and italic versions of Latin characters (UTF-8 Character Set 1D400-1D4FF encompasses most of these).
Instead, we should permit markdown in the display name field.
