Hello.
Is there a function or plugin that allows to hide part of a post content (not the full post) to the non-logged-in users? or to users who have not replied?
Thank you.
In a feature request discussion titled āAllow to hide part of a post content with ālogin to seeā or āreply to seeā function,ā Dennis_P_Z asks if thereās a plugin or built-in function to hide specific portions of a post (not the entire post) from non-logged-in users or users who havenāt replied ā for example, to conceal sensitive information like passwords ā while still allowing full topic accessibility and replies. Jagster clarifies that while Discourse allows hiding entire topics or categories behind login requirements (referencing this plugin), thereās no ready-made solution for partial content hiding. Jagster also questions the logic of hiding content from non-repliers, noting it would prevent anyone from replying if the topic itself were hidden ā but Dennis_P_Z clarifies the intent is not to block topic access or replies, only to conceal specific sensitive details within the post, preserving normal interaction. The discussion remains open for potential plugin development or workaround suggestions.
Hello.

Thank you.
You can show name of a topic and hide topic itself showing request to login, but I donāt know any ready-to-use solutions hide only partially.
This is doing almost wanted, but then all categories should be with limited access. But that you are looking for.
If so how could anyone reply ever then? It would hide that topic then for everyone but OP.
Thanks for the reply. Iād like to try that.
What I wanted is just to hide some key information password for example from the topic, so it doesnāt affect the accessbility to the topic. Still, everyone can reply to it just like any other topic ![]()
