Some users in my Discourse feel this component is a bit annoyed，I wonder if a feature can be added to it, that some specific users can hide this component?
It certainly can be added technically, perhaps a simple fix on our part is to hide the component if you opted out of presence features in your user profile?

It would be a shame to hide it for all those people if it’s set only to show “x users online”.
Though maybe that’s better than yet another setting. And it might encourage people not to hide themselves.
