Hey everyone! Im launcing a discourse app for my community and it will be a webview to begin with as I dont see the point of spending time and money to build a native app as the mobile view is still quite good. However, I keep getting rejected from the Apple appstore due to the site not being inline with their strict design requirements. Was wondering if anyone came across this issue while submitting the app to the appstore. I’ve already submitted the app to the Android playstore and gotten approved! Thanks!

Hey There @harithwick just checking if you were able to get around this as i am considering going the same route for my app

People have done this before, putting Discourse in a webview as part of their mobile app. They didn’t seem to run into a lot of problems: [imagem] Does a mobile app increase community engagement? Community Building our engagement more than doubled since launching our app. go for it if you can afford it. we just put discourse as a webview inside the rest of the app. our other parts of the app is totally native. it was approved by both google and apple.

Thanks for the response that helps alot

Apple usually rejects webview apps if they look exactly like a website and don’t add clearly native features, such as push notifications, offline access, Apple login, or native navigation elements. I’ve successfully deployed apps using the Whitelisted repo previously which uses a Webview. If you initially get reluctance press your case. They were all approved eventually. It’s in Apple’s interest to populate the Appstore. You now have the great option of users just deploying as PWA on homescreen now so if they are playing games, all is not lost, just go the PWA route and sidestep them completely.

As pessoas já fizeram isso antes, colocando o Discourse em um webview como parte de seu aplicativo móvel. Eles não pareceram ter muitos problemas:
