Assign note not visible from My posts edit action

I have been looking to make Assignments more part of the workflow of my site and noticed that if you put a note in the original assignment, it is not viewable from the Edit assignment details from the My posts listing.

Is this an expected response or should the note carry through? The note still shows when re-viewed at the topic itself. Should the Assignee field clear by default on the Edit assignments?

I think it’s expected that the note is removed on edit

We’ve had some internal conversation and I’ve pushed a change which removes the assignment note when reassigning. I also deployed the change so you should see it too. Also you’d get the for each assignment. Turned out to be a super easy addition. [note editing] Thanks for all your feedback!

My concern is the inconsistency of the operation. From the Topic the note shows but the assignment field data is removed. From the My posts view the assignment is there but the note is missing.

Where is the note even visible at other than the Edit Assignments action?

I see the note in the whisper that is created in the topic

I see that now. Never noticed it before. I’m just a junior grade discourse admin and haven’t fully earned my shields.
