Summary
In our Discourse instance, on the backups pages, an arrow intermittently disappears.
This appears to be a regression, as i didn’t notice it last year.
Environment
• Discourse version: 2026.4.0-latest (9776b417b8)
• Hosting: self-hosted
• Custom theme: default
Steps to Reproduce
1. Open the backups page
2. Enable read-only
3. start backup
4. Press “Logs”
5. Observe the small UI glitch
Expected Behavior
Consistent UI
Actual Behavior
The arrow deosn’t appear in the open tab.
It only appears after:
• Navigating out and back in of the Backups page
Video Reproduction
Notes / Observations
• No custom plugins or themes that could interfere
• Intermittant
• Affects the Desktop Browser session, aswell as Safari PWA
this appears to be part of a wider range of bugs where command line output requires navigation out of and into Logs section to update.
Request
Could you please confirm whether there is a known regression affecting the backups page in builds since early last year, or advise on what subsystem to inspect (MessageBus, polling fallback, etc.)?
