Bad UX when a topic is solved you replied to

A few months ago a change was made so watched topics notify you when they are solved. This isn’t a bad change, but there is now confusing UX. This is a topic I replied to, which automatically set me to watch it:

This is the default notification when your reply is selected as a solution. At the moment there is no differentiation for the two which is extremely misleading. Maybe there could be two different strings instead of a username at the top?

Your reply solved this topic!

Topic solved!

.. or something else? Anything is better than how this currently works though

As an addition to this request it would be nice if we could disable the notification entirely without changing topic watch settings because I’ve received 3 of said notifications today with little to no importance to me. I absolutely see the value in them if I’m tracking an issue but for support threads I simply replied to, being notified when a solution is issued is just useless notification menu noise for me.

In your notification preferences there is

It also means you will no longer be notified when your post is selected, so you’re missing the thank you. But it’s less noisy, because tracking a topic happens often automatically when you are reading a topic, and while I read the topics to see if I can help, I didn’t want to be notified about all solutions.

There was more feedback on that in Notifying members when a Tracked or Watched topic is solved
