개요

사용자에게 새로운 배지가 부여되면, 해당 이벤트가 트리거가 되어 사용자가 그룹에 추가되거나 제거됩니다.

사용 사례

• 사용자가 이스터 에그처럼 "잠금 해제"할 수 있는 보너스 콘텐츠를 포함한 숨겨진 카테고리가 있는 경우.
• “Beginners” 그룹에 속한 사용자만 볼 수 있는 “Getting Started” 카테고리가 있는 경우. “Certified” 배지가 부여되면 사용자는 자동으로 “Beginners” 그룹에서 제외되고, 해당 카테고리가 더 이상 표시되지 않습니다.

What if badges could optionally synchronize group membership?

I was looking at this topic today: Thinking through the problem one area Discourse is a bit weak is around defining “dynamic” groups of users. Give me a group of users that signed up more than 1 month ago Give me a group of users that posted at least 10 times And so on. Badges on the other hand have very rich support for this “dynamic” nature once the fancy SQL is enabled. Having an “extra” tick box on badges to bridge a badge to a group would add a lot of power. I still think it is a fantastic idea, but we do not have it slotted for any release.

After being granted the “Certified” badge, a user is automatically removed from the “Beginners” group

It looks to be, yes.

Not sure how much sense this would make. Losing sight of posts in an associated category would probably be quite confusing.

Wow, yikes. Sorry for the double post. I did search around before posting but I definitely missed this. Happy to remove it.

Perhaps one nuanced difference is that I’d also like to see this work for a badge that is granted manually, say by a moderator, instead of automatically via badge queries. For example, we have a “feedback” badge that moderators can give out for really thoughtful posts; I’d love for this badge to “unlock” a flair badge (by adding them to a group). It seems like your approach (adding a mirror group) would cover this case as well. Though, the post focuses mostly on SQL triggered badges, so I thought it was worth mentioning.
