Badges lost their images in Edit forms, cannot edit them

Shauny reported an issue where editing a badge results in the loss of its image after updating to the latest software. The team is working on a fix. joffreyjaffeux suggested updating to the main branch, but Shauny is only able to use released versions. joffreyjaffeux looked into backporting the fix to stable and eventually merged it into stable (https://github.com/discourse/discourse/tree/stable). The fix has been confirmed to resolve the issue by RGJ.

Since I updated the software on my forum, if I try to edit a badge, the image is no longer there. “Select an icon” is selected instead, and if I change to “Upload an image” it is blank.

If I want to edit the badge, it will lose its image unless I upload it again. This will be a huge task as I have loads of badges.

Is there a fix for this please?

I see you are on 3.3.0, Im pretty sure this issue is fixed in our main branch, is updating to main something you can do?

Would backporting this fix to stable be an option?

Yes I was currently looking if it that would be possible.

No, I can only use the released versions.

Ok I merged it into stable: GitHub - discourse/discourse at stable · GitHub

Let me know if that doesn’t solve it when you can upgrade.
