So I really want to show some text from the actual post in the Topic List. I really like how it looks, for example, at community.ycode.com (it’s Circle), maybe not that extreme - but the excerpt plugin I tried (images in topic lists I guess) wasn’t functioning properly for me, it looks messy. Any help?

You can use two official theme components at the same time : Topic List Excerpts + Topic List Thumbnails
