This is my view right now, and I’d like to be able to work on my reply to the left or right of what I’m reading, rather than have what I’m reading covered up.

I wouldn’t mind being able to drag the composer around the screen or at least be given 3 options like left / centre / right.
There are some future composer style changes but I’m not too sure what they entail.

Yes, we’re in the very early stages of a composer redesign and “alongside content” positioning is one thing we’re considering when there’s space available — still too far out to share anything about it… but thanks for the feedback!

Yea I have some CSS that makes my topic views and composer much larger. And I combine it with that awesome component that @Jagster posted above. I should turn my Discourse hacks into a power user theme.
