Boards can now be archived 🗃️

Discourse Boards can now be archived. Archiving a board is a less destructive way of removing the board from the main list of boards than deleting it. This can be used when a project has naturally run its course, and you want to keep the old board around for archival purposes.

How to archive

To archive a board, users with Manage permission can do this from the board menu:

Once the board is archived, it is read-only. No cards can be moved, no columns can be modified, and topic syncs do not occur for topic cards on the board:

The box archive icon also shows at the top left of the board next to the title.

Finding and unarchiving boards

Archived boards will no longer show by default on the list of boards at /boards . You can expand the filter and choose Archived or All from the dropdown menu to see them:

Boards can be unarchived at any time by a user with Manage permissions for the board:
