I could be wrong, but the OP mentions:

The only way to reach the options are to go to installed plugins>calendar otherwise you always land on this page

So if they’re trying to get to the site settings^[1], they’d have to go to “Installed plugins > Calendar”.

When using ⌘ + / then “Footnotes” it goes to Settings, so perhaps the assumption is a similar behaviour.
