I want to enable mod role without allowing email address access. I also want to give select users mod role/regular role (non-admin) where those users can see email address in user profiles. How can I achieve this? Any suggestions will be highly appreciated. Thank you.
There is a site setting [1] that allows you to change if moderators can see emails or not.
Have you looked at Trust Level 4 or category moderators? This allows for ‘non-admin level’ moderating. Not sure how to make them see emails though.

You could create a data explorer query that returns the email address of a user and grant the permission to execute that for a group of users. But I told you that 6 months ago, so obviously this isn’t what you are looking for.

So the ask is to give permissions to one group of users, who can open any profile and look at the email address. These are users who would monitor feedback, troubleshoot issues and push fixes. They need not have moderator access. They just need access to email address of all profiles. This can be achieved? Through data explorer? And category moderators don’t have option to see email address.
