I wonder if something like a “user card” for categories would make sense (we have something similar for groups).
We could include things like:
- full name
- full mention
- description
- who has access
- recent activity metrics
A click on a category badge would pop that up, and then a click on the card itself would take you through to the category.
Then, we could use the shorter name unconditionally for the inline mention.
I could see doing the same for tags.
Maybe overkill? But maybe not? Perhaps worth an experiment to see how it feels?
