Can't grant badge in the topic page

when I try to grant badge for a particular post from the topic wrench, I get the following error:

External or invalid discourse link is not allowed in badge reason

but if I go to the user page, admin view, and edit badges; I can easily grant a badge and add the link as the reason.

Works fine here.

Can you share the HTTP request that is being done when you grand a badge from a post?
