We’ve consolidated chat notification settings into the main Notifications preferences page, where they belong.
Previously, if you wanted to control how you were notified about chat messages, you had to navigate to a separate Chat preferences tab, disconnected from all your other notification controls. On top of that, push notification delivery for chat was gated by a standalone toggle (only_chat_push_notifications), making it easy to miss and confusing to reason about.
That toggle has been replaced by a push_notification_level dropdown with three options — Disabled, Enabled, and Chat only, and related settings have been moved, sitting alongside the rest of your notification preferences in one place:
No action required on your part. Existing preferences (should) have been migrated automatically.
