How to add a user to a conversation in a chat

Hello community,

I’m looking for instructions on how to add a user to an existing DM conversation?

I see that it’s possible to create a new group including this user, but the issue is that the conversation starts from scratch, so I’d appreciate any solution :grin: thanks

Hi,

go to /chat/c/-/ID_OF_THE_CHANNEL/info/members and click on add members

You can also get there by clicking on title of the channel when looking at a channel and then clicking members.

Thanks @j.jaffeux, you’re right, but I noticed that for the old discussion groups in members, there’s no “add members” option. However, if I create a discussion channel with someone, I can add other members. Is this normal?

Yes this is expected, you can’t add someone to an existing direct chat message, this is to avoid exposing the entire 1:1 history to someone newly added. You have to create a new channel or group chat instead.
