Community usage data doesn't seem trustworthy

AI-generated summary

Renato_Mendes questions the reliability of community usage data, noting a discrepancy between low individual user activity (only 15 recent ‘Last seen’ users) and a high number of logged-in pageviews (281) on November 13th. Moin clarifies that pageviews count every request by logged-in users, not unique users, so repeated navigation by a single user can inflate the numbers. They also explain that crawlers are automated programs that index web content, such as for search engines, and direct to a documentation topic for further details on pageview metrics.

Hey, guys!

These are the 15 most recent “Last seen” in my forum (very little presence, as you can see), but the consolidated pageview graph indicates an outstanding 281 logged in users just five days ago, on November 13th:

What might be happening? Is the number so low the software looses count? haha

Also: what are crawlers?

Those are pageviews by logged in users, not by different logged in users. So if you, for example, navigated the site a lot, this could be all caused by you. I had more than 500 pageviews per day, all by me when I explored the settings of Discourse.
