Contextual user notifications

AI-generated summary

The discussion revolves around the need for contextual user notifications in Discourse forums, where users could receive alerts when their content (e.g., a package name) is mentioned. lmiq suggests a feature to notify developers when their package, like “my_package,” is referenced in posts or code. Moin and pfaffman point to saved searches as a potential solution, noting it’s available via saved searches. However, lmiq notes the feature is limited to the Enterprise subscription, which is not available in the Julia Discourse community.

It would be nice if we could get contextual user notifications in Discourse forums. That is, suppose I’m one of the developers of a package named “my_package”. I would like to receive notifications whenever a post mentions “my_package”, in the text message on in code snippets.

That way, I would not miss possible users trying the seek for help in a forum.

Oh, that’s nice. Unfortunately the plugin is only available in the Enterprise subscription, and we don’t have that (in the Julia discourse :frowning: ).
