I noticed that sometimes my personalized categories in the sidebar of my forum change to those displayed if I delete my customization.

Preparation

I don’t know whether this is relevant, but my Default navigation menu categories site setting is empty. Therefore, I have customized my personal sidebar by clicking the pencil and adding some categories.
You also need a flagged post in the review queue. I flagged a post as off-topic, but I don’t think this matters. But I was not able to reproduce without a post in the queue.

Steps to reproduce

  1. Start at /latest or a category or a topic; it doesn’t matter.
  2. Check your sidebar categories and verify that editing them works.
  3. Go to the review queue.
  4. Try the same again; now editing is broken.
  5. Reload the site.
    → Notice the categories in the sidebar have changed. You see the default categories.
    → Editing is still broken.
  6. Go back to another page on your forum (latest, a topic, …).
    → The sidebar does not change.
    → Editing is still broken.
  7. Reload your site again.
    → The custom categories are back.

Not seeing a trivial repro on meta, but @kris.kotlarek recently worked on the sidebar so maybe it is related?

I successfully reproduced with a test user on my site, so it’s not only something weired with my user.

It didn’t work with the flag I created earlier. It had to be a post the user I was using for testing flagged.

Hey @Moin, what plugins and themes do you have installed on your site? Are you able to reproduce the bug in safe mode as well?
