Dunkel-/Hellmodus-Umschalter jetzt im Kern verfügbar

I tested it on his forum.

With system preference to Dark → it stays light.

With system preference to Dark and “Sombre” (dark) is selected → it stays light.

With system preference to Light when “Sombre” is selected → it switches to Dark.

I don’t see any icons either way. Hope that helps!

5 „Gefällt mir“

Does not show the option/icon on my forum either, unless logged out (guest).

Maybe there needs to be some sort of user preferences change for all forum members for this to work.

Edit: for now, I’ve reinstalled Sidebar Theme Toggle (which it looks like is being used bottom left on this forum as well) but will monitor this topic/plugin.

I can’t see the toggle either in sidebar or header. I’m able to switch the color theme in the user settings but the toggle doesn’t appear anywhere.

Maybe I missed this, but should I be able to see this here on meta? I have the theme set to default, but no toggle in the UI.

The sidebar and down there this:

1 „Gefällt mir“

if you are not seeing the light/dark toggle at the bottom of the sidebar, it likely means you do not have 2 color palettes selected in your preferences - you should have both a light and dark palette selected. if you use a “same as regular” or just one palette, you won’t get the setting.

Thanks! That was indeed the problem. I see the toggle now (it took a page refresh in the browser for it to show up, though).

3 „Gefällt mir“

I wonder what triggers the UI to show the Dark mode dropdown? My theme has two color palettes defined but the user can only select one at a time (see my screenshot in the previous message). I have the latest “tests-passed” version on my site.

I created a separate bug ticket earlier for the issues with the light/dark theme toggle.

A post was split to a new topic: Feature request: multiple default palettes in theme editor
