Hello,
If we mark a topic as “resolved”, it displays “This topic will be closed 2 days after the last reply.”
I can click on the trash can to delete the schedule, but is there a global setting to disable this automatic closure?
Hello,

If you want to disable it globally, you can do so under “solved topics auto close hours” ![]()
Solved topics auto close hours: It’s already set to 0.
If that’s the case, take a look at the Category Settings and see what @Moin wrote there. I’m not entirely sure, but I believe that might override it, even if you’ve set it to 0.
This won’t delete existing timers. Do new timers still appear if you select a solution now?
And is the category setting 0 too?
Setting it to 0 in the “auto-close solved topics” category works.
So do I need to do this manually for all categories?
edit: if I do it for one category, does it also apply to all subcategories?
Edit 2: it doesn’t carry over to the subcategories.
I think so. Cateogories of the type “support” seem to default to closing after 2 days. I think it would be better if the default was the value configured in the site setting. I was about to create a topic with that suggestion.
On my forum, it’s not “support” but “soutenir”. Can I set this globally for all “support” type categories?
Well, I am writing in English. In English, it is called “support.” I have no influence on what the AI translations of this forum do with the text I post. You should be aware that you are reading translations, so terms might differ.
I don’t think you can set a default currently. I think it’s what the site setting should be used for, but for now, you need to change it on each category individually.
Do you have a lot of categories? The Data Explorer plugin might be helpful to find categories that still need to be adjusted in that case. But it’s not worth the effort for a few categories. Just let me know if you need a query to find the categories that still have a closing timer.
Thanks. For now, I don’t have many categories. I’ll do it “by hand,” and then gradually add more as I go.
